It's been a long time that I have written anything here. I see my last post dated November and this is already mid-April... How time flies... Maybe there wasn't any kind of inspiration or feeling to write anything until now... Last week, I saw this beautiful film "The Japanese Wife"... We missed the beginning of the film as we were late due to traffic... It took a while to soak into the narrative... But once into it, it drenched me totally... Two individuals, the geographical distance between them and yet the togetherness they shared through written letters... Seventeen years of marriage built only on mutual trust and admiration... The integrity of their relationship... So poignantly adapted by the director from Kunal Basu's short story.... It's more of a love poem than a love story... and rightly so... In their life they could not meet each other face to face and yet they keep all their vows of marriage... Particularly the last scene would move even the toughest nut... Migaye draped in white saree, completely bald in her Indian widow avatar and the sense of loss written all over her face... yet the love for her late husband so much intact in her heart.... If this movie teaches me anything it's all about integrity in relationships... I was moved... it had an haunting effect, specifically the last scene when Migaye arrives...
Ah.... In a way it had a soul cleansing effect on me.... Something had moved me in a very special way after a long long time....
And therefore I decided to tell it all to the person I love so much..... I am glad I could finally do so....
